Who doesn’t love Bill Murray? He’s just all around fantastic.
I set up a little collage/guide to be all pimped out in Bill gear. (I will for sure be purchasing some of these.)
I don’t know of any other carpet that can spark as much conversation as the Portland Airport carpet.
The iconic design has been turned into socks, shirts, mugs, phone cases, etc. Seriously, it’s such a beloved treasure among Portland people, and visitors as well. I don’t think any other airport in general gets as much attention as PDX does. Check out the hashtag #pdxcarpet in Instagram – SO many “from where I stand” inspired photos featuring the carpet. I took one myself as well (see photo above).
Don’t ask me why because I don’t know why. I have a weird obsession with Fabio.
It’s not his fabulous hair, his strong built, his handsome Italian look – I don’t know what attracts me to him. I don’t find him much a joke, but at the same time I kinda do because he doesn’t take himself seriously either. He exists, and his existence is fantastic.
What does having a “career” mean anymore? These days you can make money from posting videos on the internet or just showing up to comic conventions. The age old standard idea of having a career has dissolved and you can actually make a living doing things you love.
That being said, it’s not always that easy. The “creative” field is definitely a tough market to make yourself stand out. As much as it is a challenge, a lot of people know how to make it work – you can probably thank social media for that. There’s apparently an art to knowing how to use sites and apps effectively to reach the kind of people you want to reach. I don’t know the first thing about it, but it’s actually possible. I’ve seen it work… through other people of course.
I must confess. I started listening to my favorite band because (big embarrassing confession time) my widdle tween crush, Billy from Good Charlotte, loved them.
By the time I’d tuned in they had just taken a hiatus when their musical genius guitarist and singer ran into some medical issues just after finishing up their fourth album. I figured I’d give them a shot, being impressed with the fact that the three members achieved pretty decent success at the ripe old age of fifteen years.
It’s so easy to get lost in Youtube land. I see it as a deep hole you trip and fall into, and when you finally snap out of it, you become aware of how many hours have passed and you question what life even means.
Anyway, I’m not one to get lost into the typical vast of useless videos, like dogs in shoes, epic cats, the great dane that just doesn’t want to get up, frankenstein cats (I see a theme here…). I like my entertainment from the professionals. Talk shows are my thing, or anything I know that will guarantee laughs coming from my favorite funny people.
I created a Redbubble account the other day, and I excitingly added a whole lot of work I’ve done over the years.
It’s surely making me excited to make new art. Don’t get me wrong, I love creating hands on projects for my Etsy and Storenvy shops, but there’s something about the easiness of creating artwork and leaving it up to someone else to develop the finished product, be it a t-shirt or phone case, and ship it out. It’s another way for us to kinda be lazy, but create and collaborate with others and yet make money. It’s a strange concept. Goes to show that “normal 9-5 careers” are on their way out ~~ welcome to the future.
Being a big fan of pop culture, I figured I’d create a weekly post Entertain Me Monday, which I think will be fun. What better way to start it off than to talk about American Horror Story.
