Welcome back to another installment of Tarot To-Go on Oddball Era! This week, we’re taking a look at the Fall Equinox.

Scientifically speaking, it’s “the instant of time when the plane of Earth’s equator passes through the center of the Sun.” In more basic terms, it’s when the daylight and darkness are roughly equal as we slide from Summer into Fall in the Northern Hemisphere and from Winter into Spring in the Southern.

Tarot To-Go // Major Arcana Spotlight #1 – The Sun

This week on Tarot To-Go we’re starting with our deep dive into the Major Arcana. What exactly is that, though? In short, they’re the twenty-two archetype cards in a traditional tarot deck. Each one is numbered from zero to twenty-one and features a portrait to explain the various stages of humanity that most of us will embody at some point in our lives.

At the end of my Full Year Birthday Reading, I pulled a Major Arcanum to represent the overall theme for the next year of my life as I make my way towards my 30th birthday next August. What card did I get? Let’s take a look.

Let’s Get Developed // 002

Once every so often, I’ll find it necessary to get some photos developed. I still have a handful of film and disposables that need developing, but for this batch I grabbed three random films and wanted to see what was on them.

These batches consist of photos I took during my first trip to San Francisco, a weekend getaway to London, Ontario, and summer/winter in New York and New Jersey with family and friends.

Astrologically speaking, there’s a lot happening; with Halloween tomorrow, a lot of aspects and planetary shifts are converging into one L.A. style gridlock of energies. Mercury, the planet of communication, is headed out of transformation and destruction loving Scorpio and into truth seeking Sagittarius. Change is often the product of the revelation of great honesty, so Sag’s blunt nature means a lot of us could have some grand, sweeping changes come crashing through the skylight of our lives. The challenge is to channel our inner Teddy Roosevelt to “speak softly and carry a big stick.” This is a time to not only share stories but to listen to the other stories around us. Really listen – – and learn. Just because two people see things from two different perspectives doesn’t mean either of those perspectives are invalid. Your experience of the world is just that – – yours. Nobody is going to have the same one.
