Sleepy Hollow + Tarrytown Adventures

A few weeks ago, I took a trip over to Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown with a few friends. We figured Sleepy Hollow would be a fun destination for the spooky Autumn season, and being that it’s not far from home at all, it was a fun day trip to take.

San Francisco in May

Ever find yourself in a work funk where you’re so drained at the end of the day, you can’t consider doing anything after? The past three months have been mentally draining from my full time job. I haven’t been on the blog in forever and took a break from social media. I pretty much came home and just had to wind down everyday on the couch.

I had a trip planned to visit my brother in San Francisco that really came at the perfect time. It was a good chance for me to take a break from the hustlin’ city and job pressures and responsibilities.

My first trip to San Francisco, there were a limited amount of days I had, so I had to make the best of the trip by overloading myself. My brother and I walked so much, but this time around we didn’t want to do as much.

Tarot To-Go // April 3 – April 9

Guest post written by Victoria

With this past weekend being both Easter and the start of Passover, it’s a good time to think about new beginnings here on Tarot To-Go. You know. Because bunnies and eggs symbolize rebirth and both Christianity and Judaism schedule these holidays around the first Full Moon after the Vernal Equinox, aka that first day of Spring, herald of new growth and a great time to get started on that garden in many places! Not Florida, though. I’m heading into my Bizzarro Winter, known to the rest of North America as Summer, where the asphalt seas boil hot enough to cook eggs and year round residents hole up inside their air conditioned safety zones doing hurricane preventing rain dances until October returns and it’s once again safe to be outdoors. Also, mosquitoes.

One Day In Philly

A couple of months ago, I went on a day day trip to Philadelphia with friends. New York is about a two hour bus ride from Philly, but even knowing that, I only managed to go recently for the first time.

We picked a Saturday. Left at 9am and arrived back in NYC at 9pm. It was an entire exhausting day, but totally worth it.

La La Love Notes

During downtime, I recently browsed through my phone photos and realized I never shared the awesome graffiti I found in San Francisco when I visited during Thanksgiving. I can’t believe how fast time flew since then, and between you and me, I’m planning another trip for the summer to visit my brother again. His birthday is in June and I can’t think of a better excuse to plan a trip to see him again.

Tarot To-Go // The New Year

Guest post written by Victoria

Welcome to 2018! We have a fresh year ahead of us — let’s take a look at what’s in the cards.

This spread comes from The Hood Witch, who pointed out that some other readers pull a sixth card to help round out a theme for the reading while she finds it unnecessary (and so do I). I did this for The Collective, meaning all of us, and you’ll have to take these messages and integrate them into your own life.

Along with this Full Supermoon in Cancer, we are being called to cleanse our lives — once again — of all we don’t need. Declutter your life! Donate what you don’t use or recycle and repurpose. Cut toxic friendships, kick harmful habits. Use this time to literally cleanse your tools and crystals or to take time luxuriating in a bath as you wash away the old year and welcome in the new!

Holiday In San Francisco

This weekend that passed, I hopped over to San Francisco to spend Thanksgiving with my brother. After he moved out there, I joked how I would never come and visit (but I guess it turns out I lied).

Not that I hate California, I think I find it too typical when people boast about how they want to move to California. Moving to Cali is not an original idea and I’ve heard that goal from multiple people. I can’t help but kinda scoff every time I hear someone say it, but when my younger brother told me he was moving there, I thought, “ugh, not you too”. There are 49 other states – why that one? That question really goes to everyone. Maybe it’s the New Yorker in me wondering why he’d leave such a city that has everything he needs here. But then I think to myself, after leaving Portland, I fell victim to the east coast versus west coast rivalry. Being an east coast gal, I much prefer my coast.

Anywho, I started off the trip with a smidge of a stuck up attitude – not intentionally. But I snapped myself out of it because I obviously wanted to have a good time, especially with my brother. It was only the two of us spending Thanksgiving together from my whole family, so I didn’t wanna make things sour.

Tarot To-Go // Full Moon in Taurus

Guest post written by Victoria

It’s a Full Moon in Taurus and it was recently Halloween and All Saints Day so there’s a LOT of energy in the air focused around relationships with others and ourselves as well as art, beauty, love, and the material world. Remember — the Bull has horns. Feel it?! Traditionally, now is the time where humans buckle down for Winter and this spread is a good one to get ourselves ready for the months ahead.

On November 1st, I was giving away readings and found some beautiful messages for others and myself. Today, I’m sharing with you my own personal spread.

The CURRENT SITUATION is NEW BEGINNINGS. I recently started the National Novel Writing Month Challenge to write 50,000 words in a month. WHAT’S AT THE ROOT OF THE CURRENT SITUATION is my HEART CHAKRA because this project is close to it and is what I love the most. THE CHALLENGE is to REJOICE IN CELEBRATION because this project is supposed to be fun, as it’s so closely tied to my heart and soul’s purpose. I pulled one ADVICE card, which is the reminder to reach out and rely on my PARTNERSHIPS AND ALLIANCES when I need to.
