Twin Peaks, Washington

I don’t know about y’all, but this quarantine life has me reminiscing of old trips I’ve been on. It occurred to me how much I’ve been wrapped up in in work and life that I missed one of my favorite days. I figured acknowledging it later is better than never acknowledging it.

Twin Peaks Day was on the February 24th. So, happy belated Twin Peaks Day!

Let’s Get Developed // 002

Once every so often, I’ll find it necessary to get some photos developed. I still have a handful of film and disposables that need developing, but for this batch I grabbed three random films and wanted to see what was on them.

These batches consist of photos I took during my first trip to San Francisco, a weekend getaway to London, Ontario, and summer/winter in New York and New Jersey with family and friends.

Sleepy Hollow + Tarrytown Adventures

A few weeks ago, I took a trip over to Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown with a few friends. We figured Sleepy Hollow would be a fun destination for the spooky Autumn season, and being that it’s not far from home at all, it was a fun day trip to take.

San Francisco in May

Ever find yourself in a work funk where you’re so drained at the end of the day, you can’t consider doing anything after? The past three months have been mentally draining from my full time job. I haven’t been on the blog in forever and took a break from social media. I pretty much came home and just had to wind down everyday on the couch.

I had a trip planned to visit my brother in San Francisco that really came at the perfect time. It was a good chance for me to take a break from the hustlin’ city and job pressures and responsibilities.

My first trip to San Francisco, there were a limited amount of days I had, so I had to make the best of the trip by overloading myself. My brother and I walked so much, but this time around we didn’t want to do as much.

One Day In Philly

A couple of months ago, I went on a day day trip to Philadelphia with friends. New York is about a two hour bus ride from Philly, but even knowing that, I only managed to go recently for the first time.

We picked a Saturday. Left at 9am and arrived back in NYC at 9pm. It was an entire exhausting day, but totally worth it.

Holiday In San Francisco

This weekend that passed, I hopped over to San Francisco to spend Thanksgiving with my brother. After he moved out there, I joked how I would never come and visit (but I guess it turns out I lied).

Not that I hate California, I think I find it too typical when people boast about how they want to move to California. Moving to Cali is not an original idea and I’ve heard that goal from multiple people. I can’t help but kinda scoff every time I hear someone say it, but when my younger brother told me he was moving there, I thought, “ugh, not you too”. There are 49 other states – why that one? That question really goes to everyone. Maybe it’s the New Yorker in me wondering why he’d leave such a city that has everything he needs here. But then I think to myself, after leaving Portland, I fell victim to the east coast versus west coast rivalry. Being an east coast gal, I much prefer my coast.

Anywho, I started off the trip with a smidge of a stuck up attitude – not intentionally. But I snapped myself out of it because I obviously wanted to have a good time, especially with my brother. It was only the two of us spending Thanksgiving together from my whole family, so I didn’t wanna make things sour.

Let’s Get Developed

One New Years resolution I always have is to use more film and take more pictures. I had my eye on two finished rolls that I wanted to get developed but I couldn’t find the will to travel all over the city to find a place to do this job for me. Pharmacies like CVS/Walgreens are not even an option because they ruined a couple rolls of mine a few years back and couldn’t fix their mistake because their policy states that they throw out film strips within a week. (Make note all y’all!) So I finally found a place by my job that I was able to run to during my lunch break. I didn’t even remember what was on these so it was a surprise when I got them back developed. That’s what I love about film. The element of surprise.

A lot of the pictures are kinda nonsense since I found an old film camera my parents had from the 90s and I used one 35mm roll to experiment to see how well the camera still worked. It’s an old 90s type with batteries and all. It still holds up!

These are some of my favorites basically ranging from 2014-2016. They take place in NYC, Brooklyn, Long Island, & Portland.

Quick Trip To Parris Island

Last week my family embarked on a bit of a painful road trip down south. My older brother, after two years of trying to make things happen, was accepted into the marines back in September. His graduation from bootcamp was Friday, and instead of flying, my parents wanted to drive down.

The trip itself was kinda brutal, especially since we left at night and we were all fighting to keep whomever was driving awake.
