90’s Fashion In Films

I had just arrived home on Saturday from my three month long trip and am real excited to be back. While I prepare my photos for the upcoming posts that will be more in depth about my trip than what I was able to post while in Greece, I’ll post my weekly entertaining post today that I accidentally neglected the past couple of weeks.
So here we go.

The visual aspects of movies are something that is hard to ignore. I wouldn’t call myself fashion obsessive, but I appreciate fashion that is featured in films. Obviously eccentric styles are my favorites as I have shown here.

Current Style Inspirations

I’m not fashion obsessive, and I never know what’s trending. I’m pretty oblivious to what’s going on in the fashion world. I honestly still wear clothes that I bought ten+ years ago. With that said, I do check out some fashion blogs time to time.

Maybe talking about style as opposed to fashion is the better term to use. I don’t think I have a specific style, and I don’t think a specific style attracts me. I pick and choose what I like which inspires me to make and customize everything I own or want to own. As long as it’s fun and comfortable, I’m happy.

My Constant Battle With Bangs

I want them and then I don’t. I consider chopping them off but want to try and grow them out. I miss them, cut them, and then immediately regret it. I’m affected by the issue of wanting something I can’t have, or immediate gratification that eventually expires or backfires. Whatever the case, I seem to have found myself in a permanent love/hate relationship with my ‘fringe’.

My Guide To Resizing Shirts

Learning to sew really made life easier when it came to shopping. I love thrift shopping, and coming across a shirt that didn’t fit me right was always disappointing. Years of practicing and experimenting eventually helped me look past sizes and buy whatever I liked if I was down to put in the work to fix ’em up.

I thought I’d write up a post sharing my method of resizing shirts. This post was written to downsize, so if you came across a shirt you want to make smaller, carry on!

This To That // Babes In Toyland

My inner high school self is squealing with excitement knowing Babes In Toyland has reunited and they’re going full force into touring and recording. I listened to them non stop when I was younger, and I never thought I’d see the day they’d reunite.
With all this new, I’ve been in a big time Babes In Toyland mood lately, and as I was doing some cleaning, I came across this t-shirt that I painted back in high school.

Babes In Toyland Shirt

It doesn’t quite fit the way I’d like. So I decided to combine it with this long sleeve button down, which is huge on me.
So I resized the big button down, using another shirt that fits me well as a “pattern” to mark down how much to take in to make it a comfortable size. After I deconstructed and sewed it smaller, I cut the t-shirt into a square and sewed it to the back.

This To That // Plaid Edition

One thing I haven’t been tackling much on this blog so far is my crafty stuff. I initially wanted it to be the majority of the content posted. I never thought I would do some much writing, but I guess I have a lot to talk about.
This blog is still super fresh and it’s in its beginning stage, but over at my old blog, I posted crafty projects left and right and I want to get back on that track.

Now, I’m not very good at DIY tutorials, but I am all about showing my methods on how I’ve tackled projects. You can take from it what you will. Some methods don’t work for you as they do for me, so I encourage you experiment and find what works for you. I encourage DIY where something sparks you to create in the way that you want to create.
