Nashville, TN Highlights

Day four of our trip was a big traveling day for us. We left the rental house in the morning, drove all the way to Asheville, NC for dinner, and then drove to Nashville, TN to the motel to sleep the night away. It was loads of driving, and we arrived to Nashville so so so late. And the motel experience was pretty uncomfortable, almost to the point where it felt as if we stepped into a horror movie, but I won’t get into that because it’s in the past and I’m alive. 👐

Anywho, we woke up early Sunday morning and explored this fine city. Our first stop, naturally, was Third Man Records. I didn’t know what to expect as soon as we walked in, and oh boy did I love it. The store was amazing, filled with refurbished vintage-like machines, records, and merchandise. What I really appreciate about Jack White is his tendency to create color schemes and aesthetics that are always consistent and straight up cool. Third Man has just that – black, yellow, and accents of red. Jack White knows how to use his colors well, and aside from the great music, his aesthetic really draws me in every single time.

After our Third Man stop, we were recommended to eat brunch at Pinewood Social. This place was amazing. It looked like a converted warehouse and the space was decorated in a cute and lovely way. Not only is there a restaurant, but there’s also a bowling alley right next door which was such a fun activity to partake in after a great meal.

We finished up our bowling and went on a walk around town to get a better idea of what Nashville was all about. We browsed around a bunch of shops, and settled inside a honky tonk bar that we were told to check out – a lavender bar called Tootsies, where they played country and fiddle music. We were not in New York anymore, that was for sure. We felt out of place, but it was a blast either way.

Lastly, it was interesting to see what the street life was like. Next time I will be participating in a drinking pedal tour. There were so may pedal tours happening around us. They’re ridiculous but they look like so much fun. Next trip to Nashville for sure!

We made a few other stops too. Delicious pizza, letterpress shop, and outings with old friends. Nashville was real fun. I had more fun than I expected to. I never thought I’d like Nashville, but I’m happy to say that I am now a fan and for sure would like to visit the city again for longer than a day!
