My Top 5 Adhesives & Glues

I’ve used my 28 years searching for the best glues and adhesives for all the sorts of projects I do on a daily basis. Glue is super important for a lot of the crafts that I work on, and it’s taken me a while to figure out which types and brands work best.

After all these years, I’ve discovered what my top 5 favorites are that are worth using consistently.

01. Mod Podge Hardcoat – Mod Podge has been one of my favorite decoupage glues. And of all Mod Podge variations, I really do prefer the hardcoat because the finish is a nice mix between glossy and matte. It’s more for furniture, but because it’s got a more sturdy finish, I use it to finish off some projects such as my mirror and my bead picture frames. I didn’t have access to Mod Podge in Greece, but I would have totally used it for the folding table I decorated for my aunt. I really use it for a lot of surfaces, but mostly for paper crafts.

02. PVA Glue – PVA is a life saver. It’s best for paper crafts and bookbinding, but I use it for so much more. It’s really a sturdy glue that dries clear. I’ve used it for beads on my picture frames and my cork board. It works great with wood surfaces and cardboard, but I use it for plastic as well. So many different surfaces; so many different projects.

03. Command Strips – Renting makes it really hard for you to decorate the way you wish you could, especially if you want to fill up the walls. Command strips are useful and they work really well. Apparently not so much in my new apartment, but for the most part, they’re pretty great. I’ve put up my washi tape, used a rod to hang my bead room divider, hung frames and rag tassels. They’re my go to when I want to put anything on my walls. I just haven’t figured out how to successfully add shelves yet.

04. E6000 – E6000 glue is used for very specific materials. It’s used more for jewelry, so since that’s the case, it’s become my go-to for metal surfaces. I use it for my bottle cap magnets, but have also used it for my jewelry, and some plastic here and there.

05. Ad Tech Crafters Tape – I’ve discovered adhesive tape recently. I’m not 100% tied to this brand, but it’s really great for scrapbooking or bullet journaling. I’ve used it for cards too, and it really is my preference for paper instead of liquid glue or glue sticks. Adhesive tape is really great.

I’m still on the look out for other glues and such. Let me know what glues y’all like in the comments. I’m always on the look out for new adhesives!
