Tie Dye Shirts

Tie Dye Shirts

A few years ago, my brother decided he wanted to tie dye a bunch of his shirts just for the heck of it. No reason at all. He goes through weird phases every so often.

Of course he got tired of having these shirts and offered them to me before he got rid of them. I can’t say no to tie dye so I took them.
Knowing me, I tried to come up with plans to change these up and maybe even put them in my shop. I didn’t have intentions of keeping them for myself as my closet is already filled with clothes.
I kinda winged it, but I had the thought that the first plan was to take the sleeves off and do a swap with other fabric.

Each shirt is completely different from each other, so I thought it would be fun to add different colored sleeves to all of them. Even though there’s already so much going on, I thought plain ol’ solid sleeves would be boring so I sewed white and black stripes down the sides. I know, I’m fully aware, I tend to overdo things. But I think they’re funky like that.

To add more, I thought doing a funny little lemonade graphic on the fronts would be fun.

I found thin cardboard, and with an X-acto knife I cut out the graphic to form a stencil and painted each shirt.

I had this all done before I left for Greece believe it or not. I even had them all photographed and ready to be added to my shop, but because I was leaving the country not too long after I finished the shirts, I decided to wait till I got home to do what I had to do to edit photos and post.
Unfortunately summer is over so who knows how long tie dye will be in. There’s nothing wrong with wearing tie dye in the winter, just sayin’!
