Where Have I Been?

Crazy how time flies when you’re just living life.
It wasn’t a conscious decision when I took this month+ long break from the internet. It was kinda just an accident. This also included a break from my already limited social media use. To be honest, I don’t regret it, and it was actually relaxing to avoid technology during my downtime.

Since I’m now deep into the 9-5 working life, I’ve been trying to get myself out and about after work hours and on the weekend. I’m trying to live a little bit because I guess I’m noticing how fast time flies when you fall into the trap of work, eat, sleep. The first few months were an adjustment period for me which is why I was okay with the work, eat, sleep ritual. Now that I’ve adjusted, I’ve started craving the outside world, which is strange being a super introvert. I guess I’m working on finding a happy balance between my social side, and anti social side.

01. So for one, I celebrated a some anniversaries. Twin Peaks day on February 24th. February 28th marked my one year of having this blog. And March 29th was my birthday! I went out with friends to see Blue Velvet in theaters. This year marks the 30th anniversary the movie was released and a local NYC theater played the movie for a week. Perfect timing around my birthday if I may say so. I love that movie.

02. Have you turned yourself into a Powerpuff Girl yet? With the reboot here, Cartoon Network has been promoting and encouraging you to Powerpuff yourself, in which I did. This is what I’d look like in Powerpuff land with my fellow Townsville people. I’m pretty sure I also have an outfit 90% similar to this.

03. Been really exploring a lot of NYC with friends and checking all the food it has to offer us. If you were wondering, it’s a whole lot of variety, duh. We’ve eaten ramen, Mexican, Korean, Chinese, Belgian, crepe cakes, rice pudding, etc. We’ve got quite a number of places on our list of NYC eatery which will keep us busy eating for a while. I’m also enjoying checking out different neighborhoods because we’ve been coming across some cool small shops and spaces as well, and it makes me fall in love with the city a little more every time.

04. I’ve become obsessed with Snapchat filters. Gonna be honest, for the longest time I didn’t know how to get these Snapchat filters to work but after playing around with the app, I learned I had to hold down on my screen for it to recognize my face. Ever since then, I haven’t been able to stop. I take screenshots of my favorites (as I’m sure everyone does). I have quite the collection of face-swaps-gone-wrong.

This is obviously a small list of things that have been consuming my time. I’ve had apartment shopping on my mind. I’ve been searching for a place, shopping for said future apartment (I’ve been working on collecting awesome kitchen goods which isn’t really an exciting topic but it is for me), and been crafting goods for said apartment because refurnished goods are cheap and fun.
I’m hoping to come across a real nice space soon, so cross your fingers for me!
