Dog Portrait On Wood

This 2020 is bringing the crafty witch out in me. I was commissioned to do this pet portrait by a friend of her precious baby girl that passed away. Jessie was fierce but also a big mush. Forget those pitbull stereotypes.

Anywho, I love working on wood, and I had all intentions of painting this portrait, but I decided to take a different route after I sketched everything out.

Infrared

As of late, photography has been piquing my interest. I’m a visual person, so anything with bright colors and a fun composition grabs my attention.
The photos I take I don’t really consider “artistic” as it’s just more of “documenting life” in a way for me. Seeing other peoples’ photography is more exciting, and it can even be fun being the model every so often.

Anyway, my aunt recently took a job with a client to make her curtains and pillows but along the way, the conversation became about art and all of a sudden I was assigned a job to do portraits by the client’s brother. He wanted a portrait of his daughters. This discussion was weeks ago, but because of the economic crisis here, the project was delayed.

Selfies – The New Self Portraits?

Is it me, or does it feel like the art of photography and self portraits have kinda gone to hell? Well, that’s a little harsh, but the point is that photography is not what it used to be. It seems after the ‘selfie’ became more accepted, photography seemed to have declined.

Where did we go wrong? My guess around the rise of Myspace, but to jump to conclusions and determine something that isn’t factual ain’t right on my part. That’s just my observation though.
