This To That // Round Wallet Paint Job

I’m all about little fix ups here and there when I can find opportunities. Especially with fabric paint. I really swear by this stuff. I’ve used it on clothes, shoes, jackets, wallets, and even surfaces that aren’t fabric. The paint lasts long, and the squirt bottle is so useful if you want to use paint right out of the bottle. The only time this paint let me down was on velvet/velour fabric. It makes sense because velvet has a raised fuzzy texture that causes the paint to crack. But besides that, I’m obsessed with fabric paint.

So with that said, I bought this round wallet a few months ago. I’ve been into round bags and such lately; they’re so visually appealing. I didn’t like the decoration on this wallet though. I wanted to put a patch on it but in the end, I couldn’t commit to a patch. I thought if I painted my usual squiggles and whatever, it would still look nice.

Using my seam ripper, I took the gold pineapple off. Because this is pleather, you could see the holes from the sewing of the pineapple, so the more squiggles to cover up those holes, the better.

I found my gold paint. I had some accidental moments where too much paint splurted out of bottle and I had to work it in to make it look intentional. After it dried, I added a second color as an accent. I tried looking for my purple but couldn’t find it, so I settled with blue. I’m happy that I used blue in the end because it looks pretty darn classy.

Being that the wallet doesn’t fit in too many pockets of mine, I’m okay with using this as an occasional wallet – not for everyday use. I’m not too much of a bag person so I’m kinda bummed all my pockets aren’t bigger, but oh well. Either way, I definitely prefer it the way it looks now. Squiggles and fabric paint are the best.
