Handmade Beaded Drop Hoop Earrings

I was going through my jewelry one day and came across this pair of crochet hoops. I wore it to work the next day and got quite a number of compliments. I always wanted to get into hoop earrings, but I always want some fun earrings as well. I felt encouraged after getting the thumbs up from people that see me everyday.

Thinking about the supplies I own, I attempted to make my own pair of funky hoop earrings. And these were completely cost-free because I already had everything I needed.

Tarot To-Go // Birthday Spread Part 2

Guest post written by Victoria

Welcome back to another installment of Tarot To-Go here at Oddball Era! Last week, in honor of my 29th birthday, I showed you the first four months of my Full Year Tarot Spread — that’s where I pull a card for every month of the upcoming year, plus an extra one for the overall theme. It was pretty scary opening myself up and being so vulnerable with the entire Internet like that but I gotta be honest — I kinda liked it. So, without any further ado, let’s jump right back in and take a peek at how the beginning of 2020 is going to go for me.

Environmentally Friendly Menstrual Products

It’s easy to switch to reusable items like straws, bags, napkins, etc. But one thing that women have to deal with are menstrual products and which ones to use. Switching to reusable involves quite a bit of research and experimenting. But sometimes, once you make the switch, going back to disposable is sometimes no longer a wanted option. Ever switching to reusable discs, I can’t imagine myself switching back to disposable menstrual products.

The amount of waste you prevent by switching to reusable is pretty satisfying. Obviously every product here will have a life span, but they pay for themselves pretty damn quick, and most of these items are recyclable or biodegradable.

My First Crystal // Carnelian

Last year, I started becoming interested in listening to signs from the universe, gut feelings, and channeling healing properties from crystals. But more so doing research before buying random crystals.

It was this one day where I played hooky from work and spent a day with my mom. We visited some shops near the new town my parents move to. Surprisingly there are quite a number of metaphysical shops in Jersey. We walked into one of these shops and I talked myself into buying a crystal.

Sun Room Canvas Art

Ever browse too far up in the photos on your phone, and you spot a picture that makes you go like “oh yeaaah, I remember that!”? That’s how I came across these photos from this project I did before the holidays last year.

My parents moved into their current home last summer, and they’ve done a wonderful job at making it feeling homey even though it’s a super fresh house. It’s become a super comfortable getaway when I want to escape from city life.

The ‘Wake Me Up’ Game

I have a game for you to play with people you know and/or are getting to know.

So here it is.
★ First off, ask yourself what song you think of when you hear the phrase “wake me up”.
★ Next, ask your friends/family/anyone you care to see how they answer.

As of right now, there’s only three songs in this game, but it says so much about everyone’s music taste.

Environmentally Friendly Replacements For Your Kitchen

For about two years, Sundays have been my meal prep day with my roommate. We’ve experimented with all sorts of meals for our work lunches, and most times than not, they’ve been successful. Of course we have some busy weekends where we have to rework our prepping schedule, but at the end of the day, we’ve learned more so that we feel lost during the week when we don’t have our lunch set for ourselves.

With that said, we spend a good chunk of time in the kitchen. With all this climate change talk happening, it dawned on me how much we waste on a daily basis. I’ve been taking baby steps here and there to incorporate reusable items in our home as best as I could. Of course, living with roommates, you can’t just tell them what to do. I give them the option to try out the reusable items I’m bringing into our home.
I’ve learned a lot. What works and what doesn’t, and I wanted to share my list of reusable kitchen items that I’ve tried and/or have been wanting to try!

This To That // Beaded Crop Top Tee

This year, I’ve taken an unintentional break from crafting. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve still worked on a project here and there, but the ideas have been piling up without much execution. I got hit with the craft bug within the last month and decided to go digging through my “unfinished” pile of half-worked-on clothes. In my pile was this shirt I started like two years ago, but the frustrating thing was that it was 90% done. If I spent a few more hours on it, it could have been finished. So I spent those few hours and busted through.
