Recent Buys

I’ve been on a little bit of a spending spree lately. After moving into the new place, I took a break from DIY projects and went a little heavy with the credit card. I’ve since taken a step back with the card usage and have been trying to get back into DIY mode. It’s been a challenge, but who likes racking up credit card debt? Okay, it wasn’t that extreme in my case as I tend to live a frugal life, but no one likes to receive their credit card bill, am I right?

Loss Of Words

August 6, 2016     Like This Post!

It’s always hard to lose someone, especially if it’s family.
Over a week ago I found the news that my aunt had passed. Since then, I’ve been getting over the shock, and it has left me speechless.

A year and a half ago I went through the emotional roller coaster of dealing with defeat while trying to find what to do with myself. When I moved back from my short time in Portland, I felt so lost. I guess my dad was keeping his sister up to date with my doings and she offered to let me stay with her in Greece as long as I wanted to.

Infrared

As of late, photography has been piquing my interest. I’m a visual person, so anything with bright colors and a fun composition grabs my attention.
The photos I take I don’t really consider “artistic” as it’s just more of “documenting life” in a way for me. Seeing other peoples’ photography is more exciting, and it can even be fun being the model every so often.

Where Have I Been?

Crazy how time flies when you’re just living life.
It wasn’t a conscious decision when I took this month+ long break from the internet. It was kinda just an accident. This also included a break from my already limited social media use. To be honest, I don’t regret it, and it was actually relaxing to avoid technology during my downtime.

Since I’m now deep into the 9-5 working life, I’ve been trying to get myself out and about after work hours and on the weekend. I’m trying to live a little bit because I guess I’m noticing how fast time flies when you fall into the trap of work, eat, sleep. The first few months were an adjustment period for me which is why I was okay with the work, eat, sleep ritual. Now that I’ve adjusted, I’ve started craving the outside world, which is strange being a super introvert. I guess I’m working on finding a happy balance between my social side, and anti social side.

Happy Halloween!

October 31, 2015     Like This Post!

Can’t believe Halloween is already here, and almost gone. 🎃
Unfortunately, I have no costume and/or Halloween plans. As much as I enjoy Halloween home decor and clothes (especially socks – I have a killer Halloween sock collection), I’ve never been a big fan of the celebration aspect, but I surely do appreciate the historical aspect.

Blogcademy Learnings

Blogcademy New York

(Back to school at Blogcademy! Excuse my sloppy handwriting.)

During the summer, I decided to take the plunge and sign up for an in-person Blogcademy course, as they advertised would be their last course. I was always interested in taking the class at some point, so I was lucky that the last class was to be held in New York.
The course was this weekend, which was a two day course. It was loaded with useful information on blogging basics, how to handle successful social media posts and photos, and branding. It was a laid back class, and I met some great people too who were in similar positions wanting to learn how to branch out and make their internet presence a little more known.

Traveling Onward

Sleeping Cat On Books

The blog may be quiet for a few days. Possibly for a week but hopefully not longer.
Obviously I don’t want to disappear, but here’s the deal:

My parents have officially made it here to Greece. They’ve been planning a vacation for over a year now because it has been over a decade since they’ve been on a true vacation together. When I say years, I mean 11 years. But to be honest, that wasn’t even a true vacation.
They’ve finally managed to take three weeks off which was all planned way before I booked my flight to come here. My plan was to stay in Athens; they made a plan to go to Crete. Since I’ve been gone for two months and we’re currently in the same country, they’ve encouraged me to crash their vacation (hah!).
